I am originally from the United States, and I grew up in Florida in a Christian home with parents who loved me well and served in the church; however, I never fully understood a personal relationship with Jesus until I was saved in college. After experiencing Christ ́s overwhelming love, I have never been the same.
In 2014, when I was living in Tennessee, a strong desire grew in my heart for international missions. At the time, I did not know the capacity to which I should be involved, so I started to pray about it. A year later, I met David during one of his mission trips to Knoxville, and I learned about Young Life and the organization ́s powerful mission! David is originally from Madrid and had been serving in Madrid on the Young Life staff for six years at that time. About a year later, after our engagement, we began to pray about our next step, and we believed that the Lord was directing us to Spain. Though a big step for me, it also left me wide open to God ́s will for my life. I moved to Spain in March 2017 and we got married a month later.
For my first two years in Spain, I began as a volunteer for Young Life Madrid, helping David. During this time, my eyes were opened to the true need here and why the Lord was giving me a heart for missions not long ago. I connected with many Spanish teenage girls and even began leading some of them in a Bible study. I also began feeling the Lord’s call to join Young Life as more than a volunteer so, in September 2019, I joined the team as full-time staff.
It has been an amazing journey so far, and I have continued to see God work in the hearts of so many teens here in Madrid. As I look at my past and all the things that have led me to where I am today, I can see how God has been preparing the way. I cannot wait to see what the future holds and how God continues to use me, David and this ministry to transform the lives of kids here in Madrid.
