Background check

This is a certificate that allows you to prove the lack or existence of crimes of a sexual nature on the date they are issued.

Spain´s Organic Law 1/1996, on Legal Protection of Minors, modified by Law 26/2015 and Law 45/2015, on Volunteering, establishes the obligation to provide negative certificates from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders for all professionals and volunteers who work in regular contact with minors.

The Spanish Data Protection Agency in its Report 0401/2015 and in the answers to frequently asked questions interprets that to be considered “Regular work with minors”, it is necessary that the job involves, by its very nature and essence, regular contact with minors, minors being the main recipients of the service provided. It is therefore not necessary to present the certificate in those professions that, having regular contact with the general public, among whom minors may be found, are not by their nature exclusively intended for a minor public.
